Browns Hotel

On Tueday I had a very busy day at work with lots of client meetings. A very productive day that had left me exhausted. As a treat my colleagues and I had been invited to Browns hotel to view the hotel and have a look at their event spaces and rooms. 

I am a big fan of The Rocco forte hotel group and this hotel did not disappoint. Unfortunately I did not manage to stay long as my bed was calling but here are some pics of the evening I managed to take.

Trip to Portobello Market

On Saturday my friend and I decided to go to Portobello Market. The market is full of stalls that have everything you could think of. For me it is the mixture of clothes (vintage and new) and the food that I love as these are 2 of my favourite things. To get there we got of at Notting Hill gate station although it is also a short bus ride from where we both live in North West London. 

We actually got there a little (very) late and some of the stalls were packing away but undeterred we continued as there were still plenty of stalls open and plenty for us to look at and try.

For some reason i was on a mission to find a hat (my new obsession) and at the beginning of the market found a cute hat for £35 which I almost purchased.. But as any new respectable market shopper will know you can always get a better price once you go further into the market. so of we went. I managed to get my hat below for £15! BARGAIN!!! I justified this purchase as this hat will get me through all seasons.

The best thing about the market is if you know how to haggle you can get some really good things for a good price.

Once we had finished at the market my friend and I went to a lovely pub called the first floor portobello for some hot spiced cider. I would definitely recommend going.The place had a great atmosphere and music playing in the background which was loud enough for you to hear but not soo loud you have to scream to have a conversation. I shall definitely be going again

I also purchased skull headphones from Accessorize. I have recently been losing headphones at least once a week and thought that hopefully these weightier ones would help me realise when they drop out of my pocket. So far so good..... it has only been 4 days.

The Alice House for my Birthday!

Before I left for Davos I went for some birthday drinks in a place called The Alice house. Of course you guess why I picked it, but apart from the fabulous name it has a really nice atmosphere and great food. Unfortunately my camera died so I was not able to take many pictures. I am a lucky girl as my friends came out during the horrid snow!

Davos 2013 - Planes trains and automobiles

I have just got back from Davos on a work trip and had an amazing time. 
I went to Davos to work on a Executive dinner during the World Economic forum. We had some amazing speakers. I was a little nervous before the event as it was such a big event during a very important time but it went better than i ever could have imagined.

I may have mentioned in my last post but I flew out on my Birthday. A bit of a downer but I had one of my best birthdays yet thanks to my wonderful work colleagues that surprised me with cake, banners, ballons and party poppers that they managed to smuggle from England.

Our journey started with a flight to Zurich, luckily we left on Sunday from Heathrow so we missed all the airport closures. Once in Zurich it was 3 trains to Davos followed by a short car journey to our lovely chalet.

As you can see i got a bit snap happy. The event went amazingly and our client was really happy! All in all a good World Economic forum dinner and a great birthday.  

I am so happy that I got to work on such an amazing event during such an important conference the world economic forum is one of the most if not the most important global conferences in the world.
