Lana Del Rey and Muse concerts

I was lucky enough to be given a few tickets to go and see Lana Del Rey and Muse. They both put on excellent concerts in completely different ways

Lana Del Rey - Hammersmith Apollo
Going to the Lana concert I have to admit I had not really made up my mind about her although I liked the songs of hers that I had heard and was aware of the different opinions people had of her. We arrived late and did not manage to see any of the support acts and were there just in time for the main  show.

I was surprised how many young teenage girls were in the audience and how fanatic they were about her. Kind of like how expected teenage girls are about 1 direction. I was definitely impressed by her performance. There is something sweet and innocent and yet haunting about her song and her voice. She definitely won't over. I'm not sure if this makes me cool or not.

Muse - Emirates stadium
When I was offered tickets to the band I snapped them up as I know they are supposed to be one of the best live acts of our generation. Their support acts included The1975 and Dizzie Rascal.

These three men definitely command a stage and make a lot of great noise. I think I have a new found appreciation for the band as they were able to cross over to the mainstream and still keep their heavy rock fan base.

All in all a good week.

An introduction to my BARBIE!!!!!!!!

I caught up with a friend of mine recently and thought this would be the perfect chance to introduce her on my blog.
Barbie is my partner in crime.
Unfortunately for the rest of the world when we are together mayhem occurs. Here are some pics from our most subdued meeting yet.

Why we are mocking my glasses I do not know! They help me to see!!

The Science Museum - Cultured Sunday makes a return

My friend and I decided to take a trip to the science museum
A nice little boy from a scout group was kind enough to  inform me that the world was not hanging there in front of me. The were strings that were attached. It looks like magic but it was not.

BAFTA - Champagne tasting

Just after the BAFTA awards I was invited  to go to the BAFTA for champagne tasting. I have been to wine tastings but never before had i been to a Champagne one.

The British academy of Film and Television or as we know it BAFTAis a members places for creatives and professionals working in the film, television and video games industries .

As we walked in to the venue there was no forgetting where you were with the BAFTA mask EVERYWHERE!!!!

The awards

Tasting notes

Whilst we tried to take it all very seriously we quickly noticed that although we were trying to be on our best behaviour this was a battle that we were going to lose as there were 5 courses to get through.

I tried to take pictures as each course came out but  there was definitely not an appreciation for blogging or Instagram.

Which is Sparkling wine and which is the Champagne

All the food was explained to us before it was served by the chef.especially like the twice cooked pigs cheek although I i did not manage to take a picture i would definitely recommend it. But as the night continued and the Tattinger champagne flowed  this is what happened.

?

We had an excellent time but i am not sure when my next invite shall be. Although I definitely be trying to host an event there soon.

The Mandarin Oriental - Chinese new year celebrations

As you will see from the pictures below my friends and I had a little to much fun at the Chinese new year party at the Mandarin Oriental hotel . As always there was lots of food, champagne and cocktails drunk and we had our fair share of each. I love the Mandarin Oriental hotel and it is one of my favourite 5* hotels in London. I have only ever great services there and I always feel the staff will always go the extra mile with no fuss at all. I know whilst organising events there i have made ridiculous requests but they have always helped where they can.

The party was located in the main ball room and the place was decorated with lots of red lanterns and red lighting.

Below are the only pictures i managed to take before the alcohol set in.

FOOD!!!
And here are the after pics.

The food was delicious and so were the cocktails. Not bad for a mid day evening reception after work. I hope they invite me back.

Prêt-à-Portea Afternoon Tea at The Berkeley - Fashion and food what more could I need.

I realised I have not blogged for almost 6 months and all i can say is bad me! In  no particular order quick recap of how i have been spending my time and the places I have been along the way.

The Berkeley hotel is a 5* hotel in Knightbridge London and all I can say is their afternoon tea Prêt-à-Portea is perfect. As I used to work fashion the theme really suited me as it revolved around my two favourite things fashion and food.

Feast your eyes on the pics below.

As confessed hater of the colour pink even i can admit that the table was dressed well and  looked great

First up it the delicious sandwiches with all the classic combos. Unfortunately as this was so long ago i cannot remember what was in them but  what I do remember is I ate every single one of them.

Gifts of a Burberry Mac, Prada bag and Shoes!

Amazingly I do remember the tiny sweet treats that were given to us were all designer items (well kind of). Each season  they chef sits down and looks at what is on the catwalk and adapts the menu so it too is on trend. My thoughts were I need to marry this guy.

As with any good afternoon tea there was lots of champagne and laughter. I would definitely recommend going along.
